Slattery nominated Trustee of Portmarnock Golf Club

Former student Padraig Slattery (Class 1974) holds the unique distinction of being a former Captain of Lahinch GC, Mount Julliet GC and Portmarnock GC and now has the honour of recently being made a Trustee of Portmarnock GC. The Lahinch native was a student in Rockwell along with his brothers Michael (Class 1970) and Ian (Class 1982). Padraig, along with Padraig McInerney (Class 1974), Des O’Brien (Class 1974) and Micheal Quaid (Class 1975) was part of the Golf Team that led Rockwell to victory in the All-Ireland Schoolboys Golf Championship in 1974 . The team was then chosen to represent Ireland in the Schoolboys International Competition in the same year where they finished second to the English team. An accomplished rugby player, Padraig also represented Munster on the first Munster Schools team to win the Interprovincial Championship in the same year. Now based in Dublin, he runs a successful event management business.

We offer Padraig our congratulations on his nomination as Trustee Portmarnock GC
